Where Clay Meets Paradise
About the Studio
The Clay Studio is located in Lo de Marcos, a small fishing village on the west coast of Nayarit, 1hr north of Puerto Vallarta and 15min north of Sayulita. The studio used to be a taco stand, and now it’s a fully equipped pottery studio with 4 wheels, a Skutt kiln, slab roller, and Laguna clay and cone 6 glazes imported from the States. The giant agave is the heart of the studio, nurturing our “mistakes” allowing time to transform them into understanding and beauty. We’re just a 10-minute walk to the beach- the perfect place to learn, create, and connect. After class, take a swim in the ocean, watch for jumping humpback whales, and end the day with one of the most spectacular sunsets you’ll ever see. This is a space to make, explore, and soak up the relaxed, joyful rhythm of life—truly, it’s living la buena vida.
About Me
I’m a former Brooklynite who traded my MetroCard for a surfboard to live la buena vida. I’m a total pottery geek and love teaching and building community. I’m also a drummer, photographer, and yogi—and all of these passions inform my teaching: alignment, mindfulness, rhythm, and body awareness. After all, you can’t center the clay until you’re centered yourself! We use grounding and breathing techniques to focus, learn not to take ourselves too seriously, and if you’re lucky, my sweet dog Canela will greet you at the door with her signature armpit licks. Come and get your hands dirty and your heart full.
